Watch D.C. Electro-Pop Trio SHAED’s Stunning Acoustic Performance
After spending most of last year touring around the country and playing festivals like Billboard Hot 100, Firefly and South by Southwest, SHAED returned to the D.C. area where they’ve been keeping a low profile. But earlier this week, the trio emerged from their break with a surprise in the form of an excellent acoustic performance of their slinky R&B-tinged single, “Just Wanna See.”
Sans the polished pop production, Chelsea Lee‘s voice is given enough breathing room to shine in their latest video. She could sing the letters of the alphabet and would be just as compelling to watch–Lee is one of only a handful of artists who sound just as great live as they do on record. As a whole, SHAED strips down “Just Wanna See” into a soulful acoustic ballad that brings greater attention to their organic synergy and raw talent.
The band will help us celebrate our six-year anniversary on Saturday, Jan. 27 at The Wharf’s newest venue, Union Stage. We’ve got limited space left for it, so make sure to get your tickets. $1 from each ticket sale will also benefit D.C. LGBTQIA resource center Casa Ruby.
