Once a small homegrown event that started out at Southeast venue Half Street Fairgrounds, Broccoli City Festival has swelled into one of the East Coast’s best music festivals. For this year’s show, Broccoli City has stepped up with its biggest lineup yet, recruiting Migos, Cardi B and Miguel to headline the bill. Other names set to appear include D.C. emcee Lightshow, Canadian R&B artist Daniel Caesar, H.E.R. and emcee Rich the Kid–check out the official flyer below.
Broccoli City Festival will take place on Saturday, April 28, moving from its previous home at Gateway Pavilion in Congress Heights to RFK Stadium’s lot. Aside from the main event, Broccoli City will host a full slate of programming dubbed “Broccoli City Week” between April 26-28, offering panels, exhibitions and other activities that are still TBD.
Pre-sale tickets are currently available through Ticketmaster. Broccoli City is offering the pre-sale code and $10 off the ticket price for those that post its flyer to Instagram with the tags @BroccoliCity #BCFEST2018 and #BroccoliCity by midnight tonight. General admission tickets will go on sale this Friday, Jan. 19 at 10 a.m.
Live Nation Urban, a new venture launched last year by The Roots and Jill Scott’s manager Shawn Gee, is partnering with Broccoli City to present this year’s festival. The project is a part of Live Nation’s overarching goal to expand its reach in the hip hop genre and create original content and events.
