GoldLink’s Breakout Hit “Crew” is Nominated for a Grammy Award
Among his many accomplishments, GoldLink can now add ‘Grammy-nominated artist’ to the list.
Nominations for the 60th Grammy Awards were announced on Tuesday. The DMV rapper is in the running for “Best Rap/Sung Performance” for his breakout single “Crew,” featuring Baltimore native Brent Faiyaz and D.C.’s own Shy Glizzy. Competition is fierce–Jay-Z‘s “Family Feud” (ft. Beyoncé) and Kendrick Lamar‘s “Loyalty” (ft. Rihanna) are also up for the award, but having GoldLink’s name in a category with rap’s most elite is a pretty cool thing to see. “Crew” marked GoldLink’s debut on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart, peaking at no. 46, and also recently went platinum.
Besides GoldLink, Gaithersburg, MD native Logic is up for two Grammy Awards this year–including the prestigious “Song of the Year” accolade–with his highest-charting single yet, “1-800-273-8255″ (ft. Alessia Cara and Khalid). The song’s name is the phone number for the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, which reportedly received a 50% surge in calls after Logic’s performance at the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards.
