GoldLink Releases Go-Go Remixes of Hit Song “Crew,” Featuring Backyard Band and New Impressionz
“Crew,” the debut single from GoldLink‘s latest album At What Cost, has proven to be a hit for the DMV rapper. It marked his first entry into the Billboard Hot 100 chart, peaking at no. 58, and has received over 33 million plays on Spotify alone. Following the success of the song, GoldLink has released a new EP featuring six remixed versions of “Crew.”
The record includes Gucci Mane‘s remix that was previously released in June, along with remixes by Norwegian producer Lido and Atlanta producer Richie Souf. But the highlight of the EP comes towards the end, as prominent go-go groups Backyard Band and New Impressionz give life to “Crew” via two energized covers.
Both collaborations were bound to happen sooner rather than later–GoldLink had mentioned Backyard Band as being a major influence to his music in a number of interviews, and he also has a close relationship with Maryland’s New Impressionz. Just last month GoldLink had shared the stage with New Impressionz during radio station 93.9 WKYS’s block party in Landover, MD.
