Besides this list of shows, don’t forget our comprehensive guide to outdoor concerts happening in and around D.C.

Thursday, Aug. 3–Weird Babies, Aaron Leitko, Herschel Hoover at Fort Reno. Show 7 p.m./FREE

This is it–Thursday is your last chance to see Fort Reno before it’s too late. Local punks Weird Babies, Aaron Leitko (one half of electronic duo Protect-U) and rock group Herschel Hoover will help bring the month-long series to a close. This is also the annual Night of 1000 cakes celebration, so pay it forward and bring a cake, cupcake or some other delicious baked dessert to share with the crowd.

Thursday, Aug. 3–Black Alley @ DowntownDC LIVE. Show 12 p.m./FREE

We’re teaming up with the Downtown DC BID to present the last show of their summer music series, DowntownDC LIVE. Bringing their signature sound of go-go, rock and hip hop to the stage, Black Alley’s punchy, high-energy live set is one not to miss.

Saturday, Aug. 5–Big Hush, Wildhoney, Casual Burn, Den-Mate, Antonia @ Hole in the Sky. Show 8 p.m./Tickets $10

D.C. rock quartet Big Hush is gearing up to release a 12″ record composed of music from their EPs Who’s Smoking Your Spirit and Wholes. Over the last few years the band has really come into its own, and most recently unveiled a beautifully-shot music video for its single “Cough.” Catch them on Saturday at Northeast DIY space Hole in the Sky as the group celebrates its record release with Baltimore shoegaze group Wildhoney, New Orleans garage rock band Casual Burn and D.C.’s Den-Mate and Antonia.
