On Thursday night, we launched Sounds of the City Festival with D.C. Music Industry Night at WeWork’s gorgeous Wonder Bread Factory space. It was the first-ever panel event D.C. Music Download hosted, bringing together musicians, venue owners, bloggers, label managers, promoters and more creatives. The event kicked off with an insightful panel focused on the current state of D.C. music, featuring Matt Cohen (arts editor, Washington City Paper), Dior Ashley Brown (co-founder and organizer, D.C. Music Summit), Julianne Brienza (CEO and founder, Capital Fringe), Jesse Rubin (founder, Bombay Knox) and Alex Tebeleff (co-founder, Paperhaus and DCDIT), with Listen Local First and Funk Parade co-founder Chris Naoum moderating the discussion.
It was a fantastic kickoff to a fun weekend of Sounds of the City shows. Check out our photo gallery from the event, and also stream the full panel discussion from Thursday on our Facebook page.
