There are a lot of festivals in D.C., but there aren’t many that highlight the D.C. music scene in the way that Funk Parade does.
Despite some rain earlier in the day, there were thousands of people who still came out to support the show, wandering down U Street to take in all the performers, vendors and food trucks that took up several blocks of the neighborhood. DCMD hosted the Atlantic Plumbing stage on Florida Ave during the day, where we had the honor of hosting go-go legends Rare Essence with DJ Kool, Black Alley, DJ Ayes Cold, The Funk Ark, Kokayi, BOOMscat, Reesa Renee, Capitol Movement, Afromoda Dance Theater, artist Rose Jaffe and more amazing creatives at our site.
A big thanks to all the performers and Funk Parade for having us! And now, onto the photos…
