Rejoice–after a two year wait, D.C. rock band Cigarette returns with new music.
Chapel Sounds is the follow-up to the band’s 2013 album Gush, comprised of four celestial songs and five interludes that were recorded at longstanding DIY venue St. Stephen’s Church. It is the standout of the tapes that will be released under JMC Aggregate this Friday, a booking company and label based in Brooklyn.
The cassette series, entitled “Organechs,” encompasses six albums that feature new songs from mostly New York-based bands like Palm, Trabajo, Palberta and Big Neck Police, in addition to hometown heroes Cigarette and Rhode Island’s Sediment Club. Each release also features accompanying artwork from James Moore.
